With our fall Parade of Homes just around the corner, we wanted to give you an inside look at how easy it is to build a home with us. We’re excited to introduce you to recent Heartland homeowners, Steve and Gina, who can’t wait to enjoy their new Madison home!
Why did you originally choose the plan you chose to work from?
Steve: After looking at a few plans, we chose the Madison and added a few features that we liked that flowed with the layout. We took the existing plan and made it our own with Heartland’s help. It checked a lot of boxes as to what we were looking for — a big kitchen, an open plan, a big basement that can be finished. The home met a lot of our needs off the bat, and with some pretty easy tweaks, we had a design that works for us.
What part of the entire home building process was easier than you expected?
Gina: Picking out colors, sinks, stone, etc. was a lot easier than what everyone told me! I didn’t find it as stressful; it was pretty easy.
Steve: All the horror stories we heard were about decision-making. But we were able to make all the decisions for our home in a matter of days. Once the process got started, we didn’t have a lot to do and we found it was not this ongoing, dragged out process that other people had described.
Did you find it easy to make customizations to your home that were important to you?
Gina: Yes, it was easy to make changes.
Steve: The changes we made, including making rooms bigger/smaller and changing entries, were done quickly. The Heartland team was very helpful and quick.
