How to Build a Home When You’re Remote

If you’re one of the millions of people considering relocating to another state to be closer to family, a more fulfilling lifestyle, or work, then finding a home is at the top of your priority list. In today’s market, however, finding an existing home is harder than ever. One option that you may not have considered is building a new home. If you are moving to Grand Rapids or West Michigan, remote home building can be easier, more fun, and fast(er than you think)!

At Heartland Builders, we are experienced in building homes for people who live remotely. We leverage technology wherever possible and over-communicate to our customers every step of way. If you can’t fly or drive to Grand Rapids every month to check on the progress of your new home, no worries! Here’s how we make the process easy for our remote homebuyers:

We Leverage Technology for Remote Home Building

We love technology that makes the building process easier and faster for our clients. Great technology will make a remote homebuyer feel like they haven’t missed a thing! We conduct all our meetings via Zoom. We also use an online platform called BuilderTrend that allows you to communicate with your interior designer and choose selections. Once your floor plan and selections are chosen and personalized, we’ll create a 3D home design so that you can envision and “walk through” your home before it’s even built. Here’s how we do it.

We Communicate Really Well

Ask any of our existing customers — communication is a key to our success! Throughout your building process, your dedicated project manager will communicate every new development and phase, so you’re always in the know. You’ll also receive progress pictures so you can see in real time how your home is coming together. Your project manager is always there for you — contact him or her at any time and you can expect a fast reply! Communication is the foundation of all our processes and is at the heart of our excellent customer experience.

If you are considering building a new home in Grand Rapids, but you don’t live here yet, you don’t have anything to worry about. Give us a call or contact us and learn how we make the remote home building process easy, fun, and fast(er than you think)!
