With our next Parade of Homes event coming up in July (Shhh.. our grand secret is being revealed soon!), we wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to build a home with us. We’re excited to introduce you to recent Heartland homeowners, Lindsey and Josh! In their own words, here’s what this couple had to say about how easy it was to build a new home with us:
Why did you originally choose the Aberdeen plan to work from?
We had been looking on Pinterest for ideas, then started talking with Rich and Cindy. We looked at plans on the website, found the one we loved, and we personalized it from there! We trusted their vision and expertise to help make this plan contemporary.
*Heartland here – we loved this home so much, we renamed it as one of our own for other homeowners to enjoy just as much!
What part of the entire process was easier than you expected?
The selections process was a lot easier than we had thought (we had heard horror stories)! When we told our friends and family that we were building a house together, they joked about it being stressful on a relationship, but it couldn’t have been easier.
It was great to work with their designer at the showroom; we got everything we wanted, so we were very happy about that. We loved having everything selected before we built because it took away a lot of the stress and made it easy for us with our busy schedules and full-time jobs.
Did you find it easy to make customizations that were important to you? How did that process work?
Definitely! Working with the interior designer made this part of the process so easy. We would say, “this is what we want,” and she would say, “let me send you this/share this idea,” and we would go from there. She looked at our vision board and gave us more ideas and helped us make it our own. If she didn’t think something was a good idea, she told us up front. Her insight and expertise as a designer was so helpful.
